Donors ask: Money or food?

Donations to the Thurston County Food Bank keep our doors open and our shelves full. One of the most common questions we hear is,

«Would you rather have money or food?»

The answer is – BOTH! Monetary donations to the Food Bank allow us to stretch your dollar by purchasing at food bank-only bulk rates that are much lower than the retail prices.

However, when we purchase in bulk, we end up with large quantities of the same item, i.e. cornflakes. Food donations from individuals and food drives improve the variety of foods available to our clients. Our goal is to have items that meet a variety of dietary restrictions, cooking abilities and preferences.

Regardless how you choose to support the Thurston County Food Bank, we can’t THANK YOU ENOUGH! But we will certainly try…
