Downtown Oly pantry Change

Monday, May 17 & Wednesday, May 19 at TCFB’s downtown Olympia Food Pantry because of construction on Franklin St.

Cars please drive toward the Farmers Market on Washington St., turn right on A Ave. and then right on Franklin St. to the food pantry parking lot loading area.

Walk-up clients will get food along the Thurston Ave side of the TCFB building.

There will be flaggers and signs to help direct traffic, but please EXPECT SOME DELAYS. Due to logging trucks (100+ a day) traveling to and from the Port via Franklin St., our regular food distribution will be re-routed (see map below).

If you don’t want to brave the construction please try Lacey or Tumwater later in the week:

In Lacey, Tuesday, May 18 & Thursday, May 20 from 10am–1pm:
Pop-Up at Lacey’s Food Pantry
7027 Martin Way E, Olympia, WA 98516

In Tumwater, Thursday, May 20 from 10am–1pm:
Pop-Up at Mountain View Church
940 Israel Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98501

Inclement Weather

Just a friendly reminder – as we are looking down the barrel of an oncoming snow storm – please be safe.

The safety of our clients, volunteers and staff is our #1 concern.
If you find yourself faced with dangerous driving conditions, please stay home until it is safe to drive on the roads.

We will keep Facebook updated as to any delayed distribution times or potential closures.

2021 Visit Structure update

I’m certain we speak for everybody when we heave a giant sigh as we change the calendars to 2021! In the New Year, we are updating Thurston County Food Bank’s visit structure.

As you may be aware, when COVID first struck, we changed not only our distribution model, but visit structure. We changed the visits from set counts and defined visits – to «unlimited» visits in the pre-bagged/boxed model. This was done in response to COVID – and all that the pandemic brought.

Beginning January 4, 2021, the visit structure will change to a maximum visit of
1 VISIT PER WEEK – PER HOUSEHOLD.

We will continue to operate distributing pre-bagged/boxed foods using our drive-up distribution models(as well as walk-up at our Client Service Center for those without vehicles, on foot or taking busses). It should be also noted, Thurston County Food Bank continues to need volunteers at all locations as we enter 2021. Through everything our Community has been through this past year, we are grateful for the phenomenal people we have around us – supporting each other through these difficult times.
