Holiday Closures

It has been a whirlwind of a year!

The staff at the Thurston County Food Bank would like to wish you all a peaceful, health-filled and restorative Holiday!

Thank you for ALL the support we have received – donations, volunteers, and encouraging words — they have kept us strong and going.

Friendly Reminder: we will be closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

CLOSED:
December 24 & 25 (Thursday & Friday)
December 31 & January 1 (Thursday & Friday)

We are excited to turn the calendars and start a clean, brand-spankin’ new year with you all by our sides!

Thanksgiving Closures

Thurston County Food Bank will be closed Thursday and Friday (11/26, 11/27) this week to reflect and rest.

This has been quite a year!

And, through it all, we have so much to be thankful for. To begin with, through all the trials of 2020, we have witnessed firsthand the generosity and kindness of our community coming together to support and care for one another.

What an astounding place this is!!

We hope you and your loved ones are able to enjoy the next several days as you reflect on those around you and all the things you are thankful for.

Wishing you and those close a healthy and safe Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Meals

We have so much to be thankful for!
We’ve been receiving many questions regarding Thanksgiving food distribution as well as volunteering.

Here are more details for you:

DISTRIBUTION:

We will be distributing pre-built holiday food boxes and a meat option* — IN ADDITION to our regular distribution of pre-build boxes/bags — on Monday (11/23) and Wednesday (11/25) at our Downtown, Olympia Food Pantry, location (220 Thurston Ave. NE, 98516).

This will be drive-up as well as walk-up distribution.

We will be distributing food from 11am – 3pm (last in line) on those two days from the Downtown location.

We, in partnership with St. Martin’s University, will be distributing the same pre-built boxes/bags and meat options* on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (11/24). |

Distribution will take place in front of the Grand Staircase at St. Martin’s in Lacey (5000 Abbey Way SE, Lacey 98503).

This will be drive-up distribution.

Food will be distributed from 10am – 1pm (last in line) on that Tuesday at St. Martin’s.

* Limit ONE (1) Holiday Box and Turkey (or Chicken) per Household (depending on size) while supplies last

VOLUNTEERING:

In light of COVID, we will not be hosting the giant community Box-Build – we have historically enjoyed the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
We have limited spaces for small groups to help as distribution volunteers the week of Thanksgiving. There are also limited opportunities at our warehouse for individuals and groups to help.
